DIET BURNOUT
- I recieve quite a bit of e-mail from people who are having a difficult time sticking to their healthy eating plan. They have no problem for the first few days, but then they start to crave the "junk" foods again and they give in to the cravings. Read the tip below to help avoid this issue.
- DON'T QUIT COLD TURKEY - Certain types of foods can be very addictive (salt, sugar, fast food etc.). It is not very realistic to just drop these foods from your diet all at once for a long period of time. It is much better to make gradual changes to your eating habits. When you get down to your desired weight, you can still have those foods (in moderation of course). I would recommend choosing 1 "bad" food and eliminating it from your diet for 3 weeks. You may be surprised as to how many less calories you consume as a result of just eliminating that one food. After 3 weeks, try adding another "bad" food to the elimination list and you should see even better results. If you try and eliminate all "bad" foods right away, your setting yourself up for failure. You have to "walk" before you can "run", right?. Once you start to see results, you will feel better and more confident in yourself, which will make it easier to stay on course.
