FAT BURNING FOODS
- OATMEAL - Not everyone likes it, but it does have some good nutritional value. Oatmeal contains soluble fiber, which reduces blood cholesterol. It helps to flush digestive acids out of your system.
Unsweetened & unflavored oatmeal is recommended. Instead of getting the fancy flavored oatmeal, just add some delicious fruit to give it some appeal. Another benefit to oatmeal is that it helps fight heart disease and colon cancer.
- EGGS - Eggs are loaded with protien and they can aid in getting rid of belly fat. Many people think eggs are high in cholesterol and are bad for you. Only half of that statement would be correct, eggs are high in cholesterol, but the type of cholesterol (dietary), has a very low impact on your blood cholesterol. Dietary fat on the other hand does raise your blood cholesterol level. There is also the option to take out the egg yolk and eat the protien rich egg white.
- BEANS - Baked and re-fried beans are not the type of beans that I'm talking about. Baked beans usually have a ton of sugar and re-fried beans contain a lot of saturated fat. Some of the best kinds of beans to eat are: kidney beans, lima beans, white beans and navy beans. Beans should also be cooked well, as our digestive systems have a hard time breaking down some proteins that certain types of beans have.
- OLIVE OIL - Olive oil is considered a "good fat". It keeps your cholesterol down and actually aids in burning fat. The monounsaturated fat found in olive oil provides excellent health benefits.
- TUNA & SALMON - These both contain a large amount of protien per serving and they also have omega-3 fatty acids (which are healthy fats). Your immune system will benefit with the consumption of tuna and salmon, and it is recommended that they be consumed 3 or 4 times a week if possible.
- LEAN MEAT - Meat such as beef and turkey are good for the immune system and the protien it contains helps muscle growth. Turkey which are "basted" are usually injected with fatty substances, so stay away from them if possible. When choosing beef, look for the leanest cuts (loin, round) that you can find.
- LOW FAT DAIRY PRODUCTS - People who eat low-fat dairy products (non-fat yogurt, low-fat milk), at least 3 times a day lose a considerable amount (up to 70%) more fat than people who do not include low-fat dairy in their diet. Dairy products assist in burning body fat and they also strengthen your bones. It is important to portion your dairy intake, and be sure to consume the low-fat variety.
